St. Lawrence County provides unlimited opportunities
for new or expanding industry. An abundant and stable supply of natural
gas and electricity are available at competitive rates. The St. Lawrence
River runs the length of the County's northern border, providing an inexhaustible
supply of fresh water for industrial use. There is a water flow of 242,800
cubic feet per second from the St. Lawrence and over seven billion kilowatt
hours of power are produced annually from all of the county's rivers.
Extensive stands of hardwood and softwood timber, a thriving dairy industry
and rich mineral resources have resulted in a broad diversification of
industry in St. Lawrence County.
