Availability of Training Funds

An allocation of $167,000 in Tribal-State Compact funds has been made available to reimburse local companies as they train new or incumbent employees.

The program is designed to help offset company training costs as a new employee develops proficiency at his or her job during the initial stages of employment, or as an incumbent employee adapts to new processes and technologies.

$20,000 of the allocation has been set aside specifically for the agriculture industry, to assist in either new worker training, or training in support of new techniques, technologies or agricultural, production or product marketing initiatives.

St. Lawrence County Legislators voted January 3rd to allocate the funds to the St. Lawrence County IDA Local Development Corporation, who will, in turn, partner with the St. Lawrence County Workforce Investment Board and the Workforce Development Institute to promote awareness of the funding and to undertake the training agreements with local employers.

Companies are encouraged to take advantage of this training program.  Click here for Program Requirements or contact the IDA Local Development Corporation office at 315.379.9806.
