House of Photography & Imagery

House of Photography & Imagery Receives SLCLDC Grant, Will Offer Video Production

Canton, New York, May 26, 2011 – The House of Photography & Imagery will be opening at their new location of 701 Canton Street in the Seaway Shopping Center, Ogdensburg on June 1 with expanded services.  The St. Lawrence County Local Development Corporation has awarded HPI with a grant in the amount of $17,640 to be used toward the purchase of video production equipment, and for working capital.

David House, Jr. began his professional photography career over two years ago after graduating from the New York Institute of Photography.  The House of Photography & Imagery offers a full range of custom portrait packages including school and sporting portraits, weddings, pet photography, and DVD scrapbooks.  Portrait sittings are available in either the well-equipped studio, the comfort of the client's home, or in an outdoor setting.

Through the proceeds of the SLCLDC grant David will be expanding his services to include video production.  HPI will offer wedding videos, professional videos of recording artists, and web/broadcasting/film opportunities.  In addition, the new studio will have a “green room” which allows effects or scenes to be added behind the subject in post-production.

“I worked hard to get through this process and the thought of it finally happening is overwhelming to me,” says Mr. House.  “I’d like to thank the SLCLDC for this opportunity, as well as the Small Business Development Center at SUNY Canton for helping me with my three year projections.”

SLCLDC CEO Raymond Fountain states, “The SLCLDC supports The House of Photography & Imagery in this project that will fill a vacant commercial space in Ogdensburg.  We are happy to provide David with the opportunity to expand his business into new markets and offer a service not readily available within St. Lawrence County.”

David hopes that through video production he can introduce the North Country to the world.  He intends to use the new capability to webcast local events and attractions as a gateway to bringing awareness and recognition to our area, attracting more visitors that will positively impact the community.
