Natural Resources

St. Lawrence County provides unlimited opportunities for new or expanding industry.

An abundant and stable supply of natural gas and electricity are available at competitive rates.

The St. Lawrence River runs the length of the County's northern border, providing an inexhaustible supply of fresh water for industrial use. There is a water flow of 242,800 cubic feet per second from the St. Lawrence and over seven billion kilowatt hours of power are produced annually from all of the county's rivers.

Extensive stands of hardwood and softwood timber, a thriving dairy industry and rich mineral resources have resulted in a broad diversification of industry in St. Lawrence County.
